In Barcelona, first day

So after leaving our luggage at our Hostel we were off to visit the Sagrada Familia where lots of renovation was taking place.  It's a magnificent monument and one that cannot be missed but in my romantic mind I had imagined something grander...maybe the renovations took away some of the magic? Here they also had a Christmas Market, very cute indeed.

Next we went off to see Gaudi's other works of art, Casa Milà and Casa Bartllò as well as Casa Amtller, highly recommended.

From here we went on to Plaça Catalunya and then to La Rambla and naturally we popped in to La Boqueiria which is the most amazing market I've ever visited.  Here one can find just about anything but the fresh juices are from heaven!  Enjoy the pics.

Next we headed on to Plaça Reial, small but very pretty. Palau Guell was also on the list but by the time we arrived it was already closed ;)

Our last stop of the day was at Columbus Monument and from there we took a little walk to the marina.  A tiring but exciting first day!!

End of our first day 😊
