S. Bernardino and Peniche

Today our roadtrip took us to S. Bernardino and Peniche.

São Bernardino is a small village in Portugal, located in the municipality of Peniche. It is known for its beautiful coastal scenery and is a popular destination for beachgoers and surfers. Here you'll also find a little chapel dedicated to Santa Filomena.

In Peniche we had a delicious lunch at Restaurante Miramar.
Peniche is a coastal town in Portugal known for its beautiful beaches and rich maritime history. It's also famous for its traditional fishing industry and as a popular spot for surfing. The town is located on a peninsula, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Berlengas

What to do on a Sunday, well why not go out to the Berlengas?

The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas and Farilhões islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified Berlengas as “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands.
Visitors can walk the trails; take a boat tour of the caves; visit Fort St. John, the Baptist, the Duke of Bragança Lighthouse or the Visitor Centre. The island also features a campsite, beach area, a small supermarket and a restaurant.

In the summertime, the warmer weather and bigger influx of visitors results in great interaction moments, which are underscored by the beautiful scenery and clear water, resulting in an unforgettable experience.

They offer two types of boats to get there 18 seats, 20-minute trip (fast boat) or 20 seats, 45-minute trip which ever one you decide on make sure to book as in high season without a booking it will be impossible to go over. We booked with https://viamar-berlenga.com/en/tickets/

The trip there was certainly a little bumpy but on the bright side we got to see Dolphins swim alongside the boat 😼  A few people were a little pale in the face and a few even needed the black bag aha.  On the way back however it was much calmer.  So if you tend to feel seasick make sure to take meds for it but don't let that put you off on going to visit this beautiful place!  Enjoy the photos.

I wonder if anyone ever answered him? 😎😁

Once back on the other side it was already 15:15 so time for some lunch at Cais Café, which was delicious!  Then we just took a stroll around Peniche to finish off an absolutely amazing day!
